How To Lose Weight Through Natural Foods

In Ayurveda, it is mentioned that there are 8 types of bodies that are usually considered unhealthy. Out of these 8 types, either barely or overly fat bodies, which are also known as anorexia or obese bodies, are most susceptible to disease. A common cause of anorexia or obesity is the rules of eating not being followed. Irregular eating habits such as overeating or improper mixing of food should ideally be rectified. In addition, there are some natural foods which can aid your weight loss efforts. Here a few tips that can help you make a significant change.

Eat at the right time and in small portions: Smaller meals at regular intervals of 4 to 5 hours will keep your metabolism high and prevent your body from converting the food straight into fat. Measure the portions of your food at every meal, and make sure that the portions are consistent and small. For example, one portion of cereal should be approximately equivalent to what fits in your fist.

Apple Cider Vinegar: A popular way to aid weight loss these days is using Apple Cider Vinegar. The best way to use apple cider vinegar in your diet is to consume 1–2 tablespoons (15-30 ml) per day, mixed with water. Spread this out into 2–3 doses throughout the day. It is suggested to drink this mixture is before a meal, preferably the main ones.

Green Vegetables: A common home remedy for weight loss is feasting on low-calorie green vegetables such as Cabbage and Karela (Bitter Gourd). Cabbage is considered to be an effective remedy for losing weight as it inhibits the conversion of sugar and other carbohydrates into fat. Karela is a bitter variety of drumstick that beats the fat out of the body. Try to use spices such as dry ginger, cinnamon, black pepper etc. to dress up your dishes as they are very good for losing weight too.

Avoid certain foods: Stay away from excessively salty foods or very high quantities of fatty ones such as cheese and butter. Ensure that you also refrain from large portions of high carbohydrate foods like rice, bread and potato. In cereals, wheat cereals, flavored quinoa and granola or oats are a good replacement for breakfast dishes.

Garcinia: Besides being an option to aid weight loss, the garcinia fruit is also very beneficial for other purposes. Its dried skin is used as a flavouring agent to replace tamarind / lemon in Indian delicacies and also as a drug that relieves flatulence. It has vitamins and minerals for promoting better bone health. Garcinia can be consumed in capsule form or it is also available as an ingredient in herbal juices such as Aloe Vera+Garcinia or Apple Cider Vinegar+Garcinia.

Water: There is actually some merit to the claim that drinking water can help with weight loss. Drinking 0.5 litres of water may increase the calories you burn by 24–30% for an hour afterwards*. Drinking water before meals may also lead to reduced calorie intake, especially for middle-aged and older people. Water is particularly great for weight loss when it replaces other beverages that are high in calories and sugar. Next time you feel like reaching for a sugary drink, have a couple of glasses of water instead!

In general, it is vital that instead of just focusing on weight loss, your primary goal should be to nourish yourself with healthy food and essential nutrients. A better lifestyle and desired weight levels will automatically follow.
